Youth offending Teams (YOTs)

The Crime and Disorder Act  and the  Health and Social Care Act 2012  call for local authorities, the police, probation,  health  and Clinical Commissioning Groups,  to establish youth offending teams (YOTs) to work with children and young people who have committed an offence or are at risk of offending.

In addition the Youth Offending service consists of representatives from the police, probation, health, education and children’s services, and is responsible for children and young people who are sentenced or remanded in custody.
